In a Nature news article from November Meredith Wadman, reports a NIH study which examines the relation between funding level and research output. According to this study the best relation is reached at a medium funding level (in 2006) of about $750.000. Wow, $750.000 as a medium funding level. Does anybody know the funding level in Europe? At a higher funding the productivity output, the measure is the median journal impact factor 😉 sinks down steadily.
